The AIS (Automatic Identification System) allows for significantly improved safety on board sea-going vessels as well as providing for more efficient navigation and easier maritime traffic control operations.
With the Satlink ELB6000AIS system, it is possible to transmit both dynamic data - position, bearing, course, sea speed, sailing and en route conditions, type of cargo, destination and estima-ted time of arrival - as well as static data: ship's name, IMO number, length and breadth, type of vessel, etc.
All this information can be transmitted ship-to-ship, ship-to-land (shipping authorities) or ship to control center. Therefore, Satlink ELB6000AIS complies with all current regulations concerning AIS systems.
